Eye Care for Inmates in Prisons of Pakistan
Since the problems in prisons health care are vulnerable, many inmates patients languish in prisons for health care. keeping this adverse situation in view, POB has taken significant steps in short span of time for eye care of prison inmates, yet there is much more work ahead. Hence, so far 15 free eye camps were organized for eye care of 9,015 prisons inmates in Lahore, Sargodha, Multan, Mianwali and Vehari. In addition, 49 cataract patients have been operated upon with IOL Implantation. POB is making headway on their commitment to visit Pakistan prisons.
Shah Pur Jail Camp held in September 2011. 4 patients were operated for cataract blindness, and 115 patients were examined.
